FAKING THE MORNING PERSON THING

Happy Monday everyone


It has come to be the end of the weekend + start of the new week. And for most of us, we go back into the office this morning, back into routine of the week. (hopefully not dreading it.)


We've all heard the term "fake it till you make it". A good amount of people live by that, but you can turn the "faking it" into a part of your life that you no longer have to "fake". like getting up at the ass crack of dawn.

do you hate morning people? .. me too. weird, considering i'm on to get my ass up and out of bed, even when i don't want too.


the trick to "being a morning person" if you're not. - don't be.

i don't consider myself a morning person, at all. i'm cranky as shit in the morning.

which is exactly why i do things that i like in the morning (alone) to get myself in the mood to be around people and get ready for the day.


the fact that i get up early, to workout, or get things done impresses people.

but if you knew me, closely, you would know that i hate waking up, i hate being talked to right when i wakeup, i dont want to be asked questions right away when my eyes are half open. I still just want to be left alone; for a good .... probably 30 minutes to an hour when i wake up. which is exactly why i wakupe and go right to the gym ... headphones in, no one around, no one to bother me. (unless you're one of those asses that think its cool to try and start a conversation WHILE someone is mid work out .. at least wait till we're done, seriously.. anyway.)


you don’t have to be a “morning person” to get up and get things done .. i think the main key is to find something you enjoy doing in the morning. if you like to have a cup of coffee in silence, wake up a little earlier so you can.. even if it's 5 minutes. if you start off your day with something you love, it is a lot harder to have a bad day.

getting yourself out of bed is the hardest part to waking up in the morning. motivation is hard, especially on a monday. just find what drives you. what do you love doing? pick something & do that first thing in the morning. ~ give yourself that extra 10 minutes, it will make you feel a lot better and will start out your day how YOU want it.


are you a morning person? maybe not.

do you want to get shit done and out of the way? maybe.


just try getting up and doing something you like first thing. if you know the kids get up at 630, get up at 6, take your shower, have your cup of coffee. you know your roommate gets up at 830 to shower? get up at 8, make some food, go for a run, do your thing.

read a book, write, go for a walk.. something you can do to prep your mind and self for the day ahead.
