motivation techniques

happy savage sunday!
its sunday, which means some of us are dreading the week. .. i hope not. but if you (or even if you're not), sometimes we all need a little motivation. so i figured i'd put together some of my favorite things that help me get motivated for the next day.
1. focus on one thing.
.. we often don't realize how overwhelmed we get; that does have a larger effect on us than we realize. categorize the main thing you need to get done.. or just at least one thing.
2. change your hype song list.
.. this is huge for me. i get addicted to some songs so easily. and then i get in this loop of the same few songs. ask friends or anyone you enjoy following for song requests to get you hyped up.
3. write in a journal.
.. no you don't have to be some fancy writer (we all know i'm not). but sometimes it helps just to get your thoughts out. even if none of it makes sense. it helps to just be able to put it somewhere.
4. create a vision board.
.. yeah, like arts and crafts. get some old magazines or find a pinterest board or Instagram that inspires you. cut and paste a ton of images together and then hang it on your fridge to look at or put it as your phone background.
5. get support.
.. ask someone to help you get out of bed, or get up and get things done. find your hype people, get them to help back you and support you on what you want to get accomplished.. even if its just cleaning the kitchen.
6. think about the rewards.
.. what will you gain when you accomplish the goal you're focused on, but not motivated. what will you get once you get this done. peace of mind? rest? what ever it may be, focus on that - let that help drive you.
7. go for a walk.
.. get your blood flowing and get up and get out of the house for awhile. a change of scenery always helps get you out of a "funk".
these are just some of the things i do to help motivate me when i'm stuck in a rut and just don't want to do anything.. which unfortunately happens more often than not.
