One week into the new year

I'm not going to start this post by asking what you've accomplished the first week of the new year - if you did accomplish things, great. if not you shouldn't sit and dwell on the fact that you haven't gotten everything done you wanted too - but that's what Sundays are for; getting prepped for the week and getting yourself mentally ready to handle what ever life is going to, or has already thrown at you.

The new trending term for everyone's dread to starting a new week, is "sundnay scaries" which sounds pretty dumb. if you think about it, do you honestly want to already start you week off by saying tomorrow is going to suck when you're letting something like the term "sunday scaries" take over your sunday ... ?

don't get me wrong; i love my weekends and being lazy, sitting in sweats all day, doing nothing, and watching tv. not worrying about any responsibility.

but that's where most of my drive comes from, and what's what everyone should use as part of their drive to get things done - the amount of responsibility i have. ..

like most people .. you go to work, because you have to pay bills, or buy groceries, some people even support a whole family, or parts of it. i think that's something people often forget - their small victories.

no it might not seem like much during the day.. going to work, getting through the day, but that one day you got through could have paid for your phone bill, internet, pay for your dogs food, or possibly going out and getting a drink later.

when you start overthinking everything you have to do for the week, just remember to take it one thing at a time. .. yes, easier said than done, but if you practice it, it will become more constant, i don't always agree that practice makes perfect but setting a trend in your life with habits can help. which is why i decided to start the Gymshark 66 challenge. with one week underway i can officially say i have not done the best, but, i'm working on it. with that being said..

instead of sitting around dreading your Monday .. and your week. do some things to change it:

make your bed. seriously. i probably sound like one of your parents.. but i'm not kidding. .. even if you're going to just sit in your bed all day and not read or listen to anything else i'm saying. just make it. .. once you do, that's already one task done. coming home to a made bed is something you probably wont realize how much you love. it makes the room feel different, in a good way and something that could change your mood without you even realizing it.

when it comes to Sunday, everyone wants to sit around and do nothing.. or possibly watch foot ball, or anything that avoids responsibility. - unless you're someone who works on sunday's, then that's a different story, (you're doing great), but just get something done. if you clean the house, or your room, it's one less thing to do or think about tomorrow.

do the tasks you don't want to do tomorrow, today. then you'll have more time than you realize when tomorrow comes. just even do one task. .. do the dishes so when you cook dinner later you already have a clean kitchen. do the laundry so you have everything you need for tomorrow. one task now, means less later and who doesn't want to just get some sleep at the end of the day at a decent time without laying in bed at night thinking about 100+ things you STILL have to get done?

get ready for the next day, today. i'm big at taking one thing at a time and focusing on one day at a time, but it makes the next morning start out a lot easier if you get everything set.. put out your clothes, pack your lunch, make sure your keys are in a place for you to remember. .. starting off the day in a good way can help the day run a lot more smoothly.

get off of the computer, or your phone, or video games for just 30 minutes. do something else. read, take a bath, draw, do a puzzle, write, run, go get lunch with a friend (without being on your phone). and just be happy for your surroundings. anything to step away from technology for a little and let your mind stop focusing on other people or other things - just focus on you.

don't let the fact that tomorrow is monday ruin today. .. you still have a lot of the day left to countless things .. you just have to tell yourself to focus on today and what you want to get done today.

don't overthink what you have to do. one thing at a time. one task at a time. one move at a time. work on slowing down your mind.. make a list if it helps. (big fan of lists, can't help it). no, no one wants to do twenty tasks in a day, but by getting at least one done you help ease your mind, which then makes you less stressed and makes the day go by a lot more smoothly.

Happy Sunday; Hoping for a good week ahead.
