Happy Savage Sunday yall!!

my fellow writers, bloggers, musicians, poets, .. any of the arts or anything else i missed.

writers block sucks. its a thing, it happens, and we all hate it.

it's annoying; it's like when you were telling a story and you completely forget your point.

~ it just goes missing ~

then you get frustrated and stare at a half written page for hours, days, months.. sometimes years. unfinished thoughts and writings are beyond frustrating, but it's not all meant to be written right then if that's happening. it will come back to you. and it will come back a lot better than you thought it would have ever been written.

so i'm going to share with you some of my favorite ways that have helped my writers block.

My 8 hacks on how to get past writers block ....

1. Go For A Walk

anywhere. even just around the block. any change in your atmosphere can help you. i'm not going to say it's going to completely inspire you or anything like that, or just "poof" fix it all, but getting in a different space for awhile can help with how you look at things. maybe you meet someone on the walk and something sparks, or maybe you put that writing to rest for awhile and something new inspired you.

2. Listen To New Music

reach out to a friend and ask about their music, what their favorite song is and why. get into their head space for a little and out of yours. feel what they feel, or at least try. be open minded and maybe something will come to you from another artist or friend.

3. Writing Prompts

you might be sick of writing, or you might just need to write about something completely different. pick something new. totally off the wall that you would never write about or think about diving into and find a writing prompt that is so oddly different from what your focus is so that you can get more of your mind out of what you're doing and into something else for awhile.

4. Walk Away

yeah. just straight up, walk away. get a glass of water. fold some laundry. do a cartwheel. honestly, just let it be left alone for a little. not all things need pressure on them 24-7, especially you.

5. Pinterest

look at different boards. look at things you don't typically look at. find a color scheme and run with it. create your own board and get some creative aspects from other people.

6. Revisit Old Hobbies

paint, or read. draw something even if you're "not good". just be a kid again and do some fun arts and crafts stuff. get a coloring book and a new set of pencils

7. Talk To Someone

find someone you think is inspiring. or open minded. pick at their brain for a little. see what they're passionate about and why. what makes them, them. what are their loves or their disgusts. anything. again, get out of your head space for a little and into someone else's.

8. Re-Read A Favorite Book

dive back into a kids book you use to love. or an old poets book. look at one of the picture books you use to love, or find that sci-fi novel with the pages completely curled because of how many times you've read it. go back to some old thoughts and get inspiration from the old you, where you were when you started writing what you did.
