bloating. everyone hates it.

it makes you feel uncomfortable and not the most flattering. there are countless reasons for bloating. now this post isn't me saying what you should or should not eat, because honestly i pretty much eat everything i see.. but when i do feel extra bloated these are some of the things i eat and drink to help me not feel as gross about myself. (not saying you're gross either.. just saying that i feel gross when i'm bloated.)

a lot of foods on the "cause bloating" list are foods that i don't give up (and are good for you.); i just make it a point to eat a lot of foods that help prevent it as well as "detox" drinks (especially on the weekend when I've indulged a bit tooooooo much on alcohol.)

FOODS THAT CAUSE BLOATING

Carbonated drinks: pop, fizzy water, beer (i know, sad to me too)

Wheat: breads, pastas, pizza, cake. (yeah.. seeing pasta on that list hurt me too) Dairy: milk, cheese, butter sugar alcohols: in 'sugar-free' foods and gum

FOODS TO HELP PREVENT BLOATING

water, pineapple, lemon, chia seeds, yogurt, mint, brown rice, bananas, kiwi, beets, romaine lettuce, avocados, spinach, ginger, turmeric, coconut water,

MY FAVORITE "DE-BLOAT" DRINKS

water + lemon + mint leaves

water+ strawberry + mint + raspberry

water + raspberries + lemon

water + lemon + cucumber + mint

water + turmeric + mint + raspberry

OTHER WAYS TO HELP REDUCE BLOATING

Don't eat too much at a time

Rule out food intolerance + allergies (lactose, wheat+gluten, fructose) avoid swallowing air + gasses (yea sound odd, i know): like chewing gum or drinking fizzy drinks don't eat foods that give you gas peppermint oil (ok if you know me i'm peppermint obsessed; the color, the smell, taste... everything, i feel like peppermint solves all my problems lol) eat less processed foods

i hope this was a bit informative without being too heavily "educational". again, i'm not saying you need to cut out these foods from your diet, i sure don't. but cutting back on them, or adding more foods that help prevent bloating can make a pretty good impact on helping reduce bloating.

Happy Hump day everyone.

as always, thanks for reading! leave a comment or tell me how you're feeling or even what you ate today, anything .. and if you log in, you'll get emails about when i post! (fancy right, i know😉)

Lets tackle the rest of this week ... after we get in a good nap anyway.

xx
